Falling is never the issue but what we do after the fall is what makes the difference. The above quote is mentioned in the famous movie on Netflix ‘Extraction‘ and are words we can all relate to in some area of our lives. When it comes to pursuing our goals people can often fall under these three categories:
Submerging: once we get too comfortable we can become submerged in our comfort. But the further you submerge yourself the harder it’ll be to get out. The moral of this concept is to avoid the comfortable feeling as soon as you notice it.
Floating: the art of floating is a skill that, once mastered, can then become second nature. What have you mastered that has now become second nature to you?
Skills that have now become second nature to you stop you from sinking. Working hard and consistently over a period of time will leave you with the ability to float through whatever it is you have been working on. The more you do, the more you get, the more you become it. The issue with floating is that you’re dependent on the wind which may work in your favour or stop you all together.
Swimming: By learning how to swim you can concur the water. When you swim you swim with rhythm, motion, control and direction. You will then find that you start to perform at your best.
Which category do you think you fall into currently in your life? If you’re drowning then figure out how to float. If you are simply floating then do more of what you are able to do until you find your rhythm.
