Talking therapy or non-taking therapy…

Talking therapy or non-taking therapy…

Talking therapy is the most commonly known. It’s where you discuss a matter. Commonly the client would do 70-80% of the talking and the therapist listens.

Non-talking therapies tend to be guided sessions on the topic of healing. You don’t have to tell the therapist anything but they’ll use their method of relaxation on you to tap into meaningful thoughts. A few types are Hypnotherapy, pranic healing, reiki and hot yoga.

All of these have proven success, but the question is always there about which one is right for you. If you adopt the wrong type of therapy you may end up put off the whole process.

My personal opinion would be to start with talking therapy. This can be either talking to a professional or a person you deem as an adviser depending on the seriousness of the issue. If you find yourself unable to talk about or pin-point the deeper issue then it’s worth taking the non-talking therapy route. Understandably, you can go through the non-talking therapy route first but you run the risk of entering a confused state of thinking for a few weeks or so.

Therapy is known to be expensive so it pays to know pre-hand which type of therapy is best suited for you. From personal speculation, I’ve found the talkative type of people tend to benefit from non-talking therapy faster and the quieter people benefit from talking therapy much faster.

It comes down to this: if you feel something can be improved with the way you think and feel in life then you should take up a journey of discovery for yourself,. If you feel that this process needs to be sped up due to the impact it can have on those around you then you’d choose the therapy that you feel will be most productive.

Feel free to reach out if you have further questions. I’ll happily cover a diagnosis report with you to scope out a road map either for yourself or someone you know.
